Multiple Target Tracking in Wireless Sensor Networks Based on Sensor Grouping and Hybrid Iterative-Heuristic Optimization
A novel hybrid method for tracking multiple indistinguishable maneuvering targets using a wireless sensor network is introduced in this paper. The problem of tracking the location of targets is formulated as a Maximum Likelihood Estimation. We propose a hybrid optimization method, which consists of an iterative and a heuristic search method, for finding the location of targets simultaneously. T...
متن کاملClassification Using Multiple and Negative Target Rules
Rules are a type of human-understandable knowledge, and rule-based methods are very popular in building decision support systems. However, most current rule based classification systems build small classifiers where no rules account for exceptional instances and a default prediction plays a major role in the prediction. In this paper, we discuss two schemes to build rule based classifiers using...
متن کاملIterative infrared ship target segmentation based on multiple features
This paper presents an efficient method for ship target segmentation in infrared (IR) images. It consists of mainly two procedures: iterative image segmentation and ship target selection. First, based on the intensity distribution of an IR image, we design a global background subtraction filter (GBSF) to suppress the background, and an adaptive row mean subtraction filter (ARMSF) to enhance the...
متن کاملDiscretization of Target Attributes for Subgroup Discovery
We describe an algorithm called TargetCluster for the discretization of continuous targets in subgroup discovery. The algorithm identifies patterns in the target data and uses them to select the discretization cutpoints. The algorithm has been implemented in a subgroup discovery method. Tests show that the discretization method likely leads to improved insight.
متن کاملObjects as Attributes for Scene Classification
Robust low-level image features have proven to be effective representations for a variety of high-level visual recognition tasks, such as object recognition and scene classification. But as the visual recognition tasks become more challenging, the semantic gap between low-level feature representation and the meaning of the scenes increases. In this paper, we propose to use objects as attributes...
